Variable dimensions - silkscreen, varnish, marker, engraving on screen parts, fluorescent tubes, leds, various materials .
This polymorphic and evolutive installation is renewed for each exhibition, and offers a dissection of obsolete screens on which traces of their past activity remain. The various ‘layers’ of which they are composed have been meticulously dismantled and rearranged.
On some of them there is the mark of a clumsy, analogue gesture, desperately trying to bring them back to life.
The properties of the technical materials that make up our screens are revealed here: moirations and polarisations, magnifying effects, appearances and disappearances, a lexical field that could be likened to our presences on and in front of screens.
This installation was realised during the Ateliers Mommen's Open Studios in may 2024.
